  • What are your hours of operation?
  • OPEN: Wednesday-Saturday 12pm-8pm, Sunday 12-6pm // All artists work 5 all 5 days.
  • Do you do consultations via email/phone?
  • The only time we will consult over email is if you live in another province/country. Our artists never consult over the phone.
  • Do you book tattoo appointments over the phone/email?
  • Consultations can be booked over the phone, while tattoo appointments are booked once the consultation is complete and and the deposit process is complete.
  • How does the deposit system work?
  • Deposits are, in every single situation, non-refundable. Your deposit is collateral provided in order to save a time for you. The minute you leave our establishment, your deposit is at work, holding a date and time just for you. In that time, artists are working hard to file your request into their queue and do the research and preparation needed to make your art the best it can be. There is no situation where the privilege of holding an artist’s bookable time is refundable. Deposits entitle you to the drawing that you accurately communicated to your tattooer in the consultation appointment, and only reasonable changes are allowed. You must be tattooed within 6 months of leaving your deposit. Once you have begun your tattoo, you may only reschedule three times before your deposit will be absorbed. No-showing your appointment or arriving more than 30 minutes late is understood as voluntary forfeiture of your deposit.
  • How do I know who to book with?
  • That’s a very personal decision! If you check out shop instagram (@speakeasytattooshop), you’ll get a chance to see the artists’ up-to-date portfolios and get to know a bit about them. Everyone at Speakeasy has unique skill sets but are proficient, well-rounded tattoo artists who are fully capable of all styles of tattooing. Our shop is a space that aims to reduce harm, prioritize inclusivity, and hosts internal dialogue daily about how to best serve our clients. We are accountable, insured, trustworthy artists with over 50 years of combined experience, and we are confident you will have your best tattoo experience here. Speakeasy is queer-owned and our dollars support our local community.
  • How old do I have to be to get a tattoo?
  • 18 or older, THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS
  • Is there a shop minimum?
  • Yes, $80-$100. Touch ups are free for one year. The only time a touch up is not provided for free is when the client has disregarded aftercare and damaged their own work.
  • How much does a tattoo cost?
  • The price of a tattoo varies greatly, and is dependent on a number of variables – how big, how many colours, how many sessions etc It is therefore quite difficult to say what your tattoo will cost without coming for a consultation. Generally, we tattoo by piece when possible. Otherwise, the hourly rate can be from $160 – $180 per hour, plus applicable sales tax.
  • Does getting a tattoo hurt?
  • While there is some mild discomfort in getting a tattoo, the pain is often much less than what people think it will be. The important thing is to stay calm, and communicate with your artist. They have lots of experience and will be happy to make you more at ease.
  • Do you take walk-ins?
  • Absolutely, we love walk-ins! Provided that someone is available to do them, walk-ins are served on a first-come first-served basis. You’re invited to call ahead and see who’s in or what times are best.
  • What do I do if I’d like to get tattooed by a specific artist?
  • Call or email the shop and request a consultation with that artist specifically. There is not often a long wait to discuss your ideas, but booking times will vary.
  • Haven’t received an answer to my email, what’s going on?
  • Sometimes technology likes to mess with people and we don’t receive your emails or they get sent to our SPAM folder. If we haven’t gotten back to you within 24-48hrs please give us a call @ (647)-378-2481
